GSEM - COBS Information

2018-2019 Cookie Season.   COBS Information on pages 23,24,25 of the Cookie Book,

Council Organized Booth Sales (COBS)
GSEMA organizes booth sales, called Council Organized Booth Sales (COBS), to increase opportunities for troops and girls to meet their sales goals.
Due to their popularity, COBS are available by lottery. COBS include MBTA stops, some mall kiosks, and other misc. locations.

• New this season: There will be a lottery in December for January COBS and a lottery in January for February/March COBS. MBTA COBS and Mall/Misc.
COBS will be included in each lottery.
• New this season: Only one form will be required to participate in a COBS lottery: Primary COBS Contact Form.
• Troops from all service units can request COBS.
• First come, first served Mall/Misc. COBS will be released once each lottery has been completed. A Primary COBS Contact Form must be submitted before each lottery in order to be eligible for first come, first served COBS. Important information to know when planning COBS lottery choices:
• Troops of all levels, Daisy to Ambassador, are eligible for Mall/Misc. COBS.
• Daisy and Brownie troops are ineligible to participate in MBTA COBS due to safety regulations.
• Troops are responsible for ensuring that all adults participating in handling cookies and chaperoning at booth sales are registered and have successfully completed a current CORI background check with GSEMA.
• GSEMA will provide COBS guidelines and an MBTA site permit prior to the booth sale. Troops must read and follow guidelines to remain in good standing and bring guidelines and permit with them to the booth sale. Guidelines and permit will be emailed to the booth troop coordinator on the Primary COBS Contact Form.
• Troops are responsible for acquiring and transporting their own cookies for COBS.
• Troops are responsible for any parking fees incurred while conducting COBS.
• An email will be sent from Smart Cookies confirming COBS lottery winners.
• A troop-provided credit card reader device (such as the Smart Cookies App or Square) and or an online platform that can collect money (such as Venmo) is recommended. See pages 34-35 for available options.

**    Mansfield Troop 80372 COBS.  Solomon Pond COBS sale Friday 01/27/2017.  5:30-7:30. Closed up early because of slow traffic.  77 boxes.  Kiosk had electricity so you can plug in your iPad/phone for credit card sales and there's also free Wi-Fi.  The spot was underneath the food court and right next to the bathrooms.  So it's very convenient to let a couple of girls shop around in shifts or get something to eat. It was a great spot great experience for the girls very easy to get in and out of.  **

**  Mansfield Troop 80260.  COBS.   Braintree MBTA.  Friday 02/03/2017. 4-6:30 PM  135 boxes.  You are near a door so dress warm and CC sales are pretty high.
